What is Engage Consult and How Does it Work?
Engage Consult is an online consultation service. You can use this messaging service to ask for help about a routine, non-emergency medical problem or for general advice from your doctor or other members of the practice team.
We know that many patients do not need a physical examination for their problem and would be very happy not to make unnecessary appointments. This service allows us to manage non-emergency requests far more efficiently, meaning that we can respond more quickly to more of our patients. By registering for this service you will receive advice from the practice without the need to travel to the surgery or contact us by telephone.
You can tell us about your problem and request medical advice using your smartphone, tablet or PC, but you will need an email address to register with the service.
The practice will reply with an answer to your question and tell you what you should do next. You can submit an online consultation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We aim to respond to all queries within 48 hours (Monday to Friday and excluding bank holidays).
Online consultations do not replace being able to meet your doctor, but give another option when a trip to the surgery is not necessary.
Engage Consult should not be used for medical emergencies such as severe chest pain, loss of consciousness or profuse bleeding. In an emergency call 999 or go to A&E.
